Ask Remedy Secures Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award to Advance Agentic-Powered Medication Safety
Ask Remedy is proud to announce that founder Olivia Coy has been awarded an Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award, securing £75,000 in funding to accelerate the development of the company's AI-powered medication management platform.
The award recognises women entrepreneurs developing innovative technologies with the potential to create significant economic and social impact. Alongside the funding, Ask Remedy will receive tailored business support to help bring its technology closer to market.
Founded by former NHS emergency and cardiac intensive care nurse Olivia Coy, Ask Remedy is developing an intelligent medication interface that helps people better understand and safely manage their medicines. The platform combines artificial intelligence with evidence-based healthcare guidance to transform complex medicines information into clear, personalised and practical support for patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
The technology is designed to improve understanding of prescription medicines, support safer medication use, identify potential medication-related concerns earlier, reduce avoidable medication harm and help users navigate missed doses, side effects and complex medication routines.
Olivia's experience working on the frontline of the NHS highlighted the challenges many people face when managing medicines after leaving hospital. Patients and families are often expected to understand complicated treatment plans with limited ongoing support, contributing to medication errors, poor adherence and avoidable pressure on healthcare services.
Reflecting on the award, Olivia said:
"Medication can save and transform lives, but the information surrounding them is often complicated and overwhelming. Throughout my nursing career, I saw how many patients struggled to confidently manage their medicines once they returned home.
Ask Remedy was created to bridge that gap by providing trustworthy, personalised support that helps people feel more informed and empowered. This funding allows us to accelerate development and move closer to making that vision a reality."
The funding will support the continued development of Ask Remedy's artificial intelligence capabilities, user experience, regulatory preparation and pilot-ready platform over the coming year.
The company is also working with clinical, regulatory and artificial intelligence experts to ensure the platform is developed responsibly and to the high standards expected of healthcare technology.
As Ask Remedy continues its journey towards pilot deployment, the team remains focused on its mission of making medication management safer, more accessible and easier to understand for everyone.
